Urban Fox

An English fox escaped me today,

but he is my play.

One day we shall encounter,

Then he and I, face to face shall brazenly stare

and delve each others existence.

Why should he be here upon my street, skulking furtive in the night?

And he of me should ask, what interest I have of him,

Is it casual ? Or am I about to pounce and hunt him down?

Then he and I from two different worlds should wonder how these two worlds collide.

Then I should think to chase and he should think to hide.

Then like a slithering snake on the desert sands,

he should slip cunningly into the night.

Ageing

We are naught but flesh and bones!

As we age we may bemoan.

We may rail and thrash and wail,

In the end our flesh will fail.
